간접 의문문 

간접 의문문 

Do you know where the dog is? (where the dog is 간접 의문문)
Where is the dog? 직접 의문문

예문:
직접 의문문: Who is our new teacher?
간접 의문문: Do you know who our teacher is?

 

의문사가 있는 간접의문문: 의문사 + 주어+ 동사

예문:
Do you know who our new teacher is?
I'm not sure where Lily has gone?
I don't remember what street Frank lives on.
Can you tell me how I can get to Herald Square?

직접 의문문 ->	간접 의문문으로 바꾸기
I don't remember + what street does Frank lives on?	I don't remember + what street Frank lives on?
Can you tell me + how can I get to Herald Square?	Can you tell me + how I can get to Herald Square?

 

who/ what/ which (주어) + 동사

I wonder who is going to sing at Cindy's wedding.
This story is a mystery. I don't know what will happen next.

Can you tell me + which store sells baby clothes?
Can you tell me which store sells baby clothes?

 

의문사가 없는 간접 의문문: if/ whether + 주어 + 동사

Is Bill in his office? => I wonder if Bill is his office.

I wonder if Bill is in his office.
I don't remember whether I saw that movie.
I'm not sure if I will have time to meet you tonight.
Do you know whether Julie has finished the assignment?

 

간접 의문문 예문 

When did Sue go to lunch?
=> I don't know when Sue went to lunch.

Do students receive a discount?
=> Can you tell me if students receive a discount?

What time does Jim's flight arrive?
=> I wonder what time Jim's flight arrives.

 

간접의문문과 함께 쓰는 표현 연습

I don't know... Do you know...? I wonder... I'm not sure...  I don't remember... Can you tell me...

Have I studied enough for the exam? => if I have studied enough for the exam. How many lakes are in this city? => how many lakes are in this city. Who will become class president? => who will become class president. Which way is the post office? => which way is the post office. Did I turn off the stove? => if I turned off the stove. What is your phone number? => what your phone number is.

 

 

부가 의문문 

부가 의문문

긍정문 뒤에는 '부정문'으로 묻는다.
부정문 뒤에는 '긍정문'으로 묻는다.
주어는 항상 대명사로 쓴다.

긍정문 + 부정 부가 의문문	Rita's birthday is tomorrow, isn't it? We have been to that restaurant before, haven't we? We might have. You can help me move tomorrow, can't you? Sorry, I can't. I'll be busy.
부정문 + 긍정 부가 의문문	Nice isn't quitting his job, is he? I don't think so. You haven't done the laundry ye, have you? No, but I'll do it soon. You don won't bite, will he? No. He is friendly.
일반동사 + 부가의문문(do/ does/ did)	You play golf, don't you? Jessica didn't enjoy the movie, did she?
예문:  동의 구할 때는 끝을 내려 읽고, 확인하고자 하는 때는 끝을 올려 읽는다	Jonathan's house is beautiful, isn't it? This assignment doesn't look easy, does it? No, it looks quite difficult. These are your gloves, aren't they? We don't have to work on Christmas Day, do we? Of course not.

 

 

 

부정 의문문 

부정 의문문 (놀라움 + 반어법)

Isn't/ Aren't/ Wasn't/ Weren't...? Haven't/ Hasn't...? Won't/ Wouldn't/ Can't/ Couldn't...? Don't/ Doesn't/ Didn't...?

Wasn't that a great performance? Is Santana Park nice? It's great! Haven't you been there before? Don't you remember my phone number? We have been friend for three years! I think I will buy this shirt for Jessica. Won't she love it? I think so.

 

부가의문문과 부정의문문 대답하기 

That soup tastes salty, doesn't it?	Yes, it does. = Yes, it tastes salty. No, it doesn't tast salty.
Aren't you excited about your vacation?	Yes, I am excited..  No, I am not.
Gina hasn't left yet, has she?	No, she has not left yet Yes, she has left yet.
Can't Mike drive?	No, he can not drive. Yes, he can drive.

 

 

정리 

의문사가 있는 간접의문문은	Do you know + 의문사 + 주어 + 동사
의문사가 없는 간접 의문문은	Do you know + if/ whether + 주어 + 동사
부가 의문문은  대답은	Do you love me, don't you? Don't you love me, do you? Yes, I do or No, I don't
