1. will + 동사원형

will + 동사원형 

미래 예측의 will : 의지 X , 단순 예측 (앞날)	I am excited about camping this weekend. We will have so much fun. Julie is moving abroad. I will not see her very often now. Will the new city hall be open nest weekendˀ? I do not think so. Tom will love this chocolate cake. He really likes chocolate.
미래 결정의 will: 의지 O	Ok. I will return them today. This milk smells bad. I will not drink it. We miss you too. We will visit you soon.
제안과 약속의 will : 의지 O (바로) 결정	I will give you a ride. I will not forget your birthday again. I am sorry. Can someone set the table, pleaseˀ? I will do it.

 

 

will 과 어울리는 표현 

I think / I do not think   + will 
I guess / I am sure / I am afraid + will 

I am sure he will understand.
I am afraid I will not be on time for the meeting. 

I think we will not stay at that hotel again. 일반적으로 (긍정 + 부정 x) 사용하지 않음. 
=> I do not think we will stay at that hotel again.  (부정 + 긍정 o) 사용 

 

 

be going to + 동사원형

근거 있는 미래 예측 be going to + 동사원형

The baby is going to cry. The traffic is really bad. I am going to be late for work.

 

 

will  vs  be going to (미래 예측, 의지 x)

Will + R  단순 미래 예측	be going to + R 근거와 예측
Jeff will not come. I will be late.	Jeff is not going to come. The traffic is really bad. I am going to be late. I will be late. (x)

 

 

will  vs  be going to (의지 o, 결정)

이미 결정: be going to + R	말하는 시점에 지금 결정 : will +R
Do you have plans tonight? Yes. I am going to meet some friends at a party.	Do you want to go to the party with us tonight? Sure. I will meet you there after work.

		This bike costs only 250$. Reallyˀ? I will buy it, then.	Brandon is going to buy a bike. He has saved 200$ already.

 

 

was/were going to + R : 할 예정이었다.(안 함)

예문:
Bob was going to stay at a hotel last night, but there were no rooms available.
Jane was confident. She was sure she was going to get the scholarship.
We were going to study at the library yesterday, but it was closed.
I thought the exhibits were going to start on June. Yes, but the schedule changed.

 

 

가까운 미래, 계획 된 미래 

미래 대신 => 현재 진행: 구체적, 계획한 미래  공식: be + ing (=be going to + R)	Why are we hiring a new secretaryˀ? Is MS.Rogers retiring? I am seeing the doctor today. I made an appointment for 6 o'clock. When are you moving outˀ? In three months.
미래 대신 => 현재: 시간표, 일정표 상의 일	Anna's yoga class starts on September 5th. We do not have time to go to the bank. It closes soon. 사실  Each interview lasts for 20 minutes, and you will have a short break after each one. They are watching a soccer game tonight. The game starts at 7 p.m. 사실

 

 

Be about to + R : 막~ 하려고 하다 (매우 가까운 미래)

예문: 
Stop! You are about to hit that car!
Do you want to have some coffeeˀ? No, thanks. I am about to go to bed.
Jake, put on your coat. We are about to leave.

 

 

정리 

미래 시제는	will + R   vs   be going to + R
이미 결정한 미래는	be going to R
말하는 순간 결정한 미래는	will + R
구체적, 예정된 미래에는	'현재 진행 시제 be + ing'
'일정표' 상의 미래에는	현재 시제
매우 가까운 미래는	be + about to + R
